Air Navigation Solutions Launches unique atco resource subscription scheme

Air Navigation Solutions (ANSL), a leading UK air traffic management provider, is launching an innovative ATCO Resource Subscription Scheme in response to the increasing demand for licensed Air Traffic Control Officers (ATCOs) in the UK.

The ATCO Resource Subscription Scheme is a unique offering which provides a solution tailored to the needs of ATC units without access to ATCO training facilities. It enables ANSL
to address one of the biggest challenges faced by the UK market, particularly by regional airports.

Working with its parent company DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH, ANSL runs a CAA approved ATCO ab-initio training course in Langen, Germany. Following the Basic, Aerodrome
(ADI) and Surveillance Approach (APS) training, ANSL’s newly launched subscription scheme will mean that the licenced ATCOs can then be provided to UK aerodromes on a rotational
basis.

ANSL will provide ATCOs to a unit for a suitable and agreed period before returning them tobe deployed elsewhere. Depending on the duration of the subscription, a subsequent deployment will be initiated in time to ensure continuous and uninterrupted resource availability, enabling ATCOs to grow in experience at different airports whilst ensuring resource stability at the ATC units through which they are rotated. ANSL strives to support its employees to achieve in the industry, this scheme allows ANSL to invest in their people longterm, and build on their competency as an ATCO.

Rather than selling training slots to focus on short term revenue gain, ANSL is making an ongoing investment with its ATCO Resource Subscription Scheme, and so providing a unique
long-term solution for the UK market. Not only does the Scheme help customers reduce their ongoing costs, it also alleviates the need for them in make any upfront investment.
ANSL is currently progressing approval of its ATCO ab-initio training course under the UK Apprenticeship Scheme and, in the future, is looking at options to relocate the course to a
ANSL training facility in the UK.

This ATCO Resource Subscription Scheme will cover Aerodrome Control Instrument (ADI) and Approach Control Surveillance (APS) rated ATCOs.

Henry Game, Managing Director of Air Navigation Solutions, said:
“We’re proud to be launching the ATCO Resource Subscription Scheme, which will provide a tailored resource solution to airfields across the UK and a new generation of ATCOs with wideranging
experience.

ANSL is committed to its people and the Scheme will enable our ATCOs to grow and face new challenges as they are exposed to different environments and a wealth of knowledge,
and so build their experience and competency whilst always part of the ANSL team.

“We are confident that this new ATCO resourcing solution for the UK market will prove popular and we have already received expressions of interest from several organisations
across the UK.”
