The post holder will be acting as the coordinator of our ATC Simulators with a focus to balance, coordinate and manage diverse areas of simulation demand and development. These include strategic, commercial and unit requirements as follows:

  • Strategic– the post holder will be required to manage our commercial offering of a mobile simulator capability including planning and coordination of the simulator solution, customer demands and future planning and development requirements. The day-to-day delivery of the offering will require management and coordination of exercise preparation, simulator bookings and deployment incl. coordination of resource as well as system maintenance. Ability to operate the simulator (act as ‘pseudo pilot’) and delivery of services at customer premises will form part of the responsibilities and this will require regular travel. The post holder will be required to coordinate availability and deployment as well as the development of the mobile simulator offering. They will also be required to develop future strategic capabilities of this capability.
  • Commercial – the post holder will be required to coordinate and deliver the wider commercial training and SIM offering. This includes UVC implementation and delivery, support of concept implementation (e.g. Radar in The Tower) and training as well as specific operational courses such as OJTI Refresher and ABES training. The post holder will also be required to input into and support development of future solutions as well as undertaking planning and coordination of the simulator assets for these applications.
  • Unit requirements– the post holder will be required to coordinate simulator availability with all ANSL Units including availability and deployment for project work, commercial demands and maintenance. They will coordinate unit requirements (which will be managed locally however) for development of exercises that cannot be met by the unit as well as capturing operational update/upgrade and development requirements and coordinate effective and efficient implementation. Key priorities are to ensure consistency across all ANSL’s simulators, drive innovation and efficiencies across all simulation areas and ensure suitability, availability and efficiency of all simulators in close coo5rdination with the units and all other internal stakeholders.

In general, and across all areas of simulation, the role may include the requirement to act as a ‘pseudo pilot’ for the purpose of training / refreshing air traffic controllers’ practical skills, assisting in verifying exercise content, simulations for the introduction of new equipment / procedures and other uses of the simulator as required.

The post holder will, whenever relevant, comply with the competency and currency requirements as detailed in the ANSL UFA Simulator Manuals as applicable.
